Durham, NC is about to join the ranks...Stylish multilevel plaza with colored concrete ledges and this pool/bowl... Pool Coping and tile are on the way...

Knott's Island, NC is wide open...the way parks should be...just show up and roll.

Big thanks to the Ruritan Club of Knott's Island for an Unbelievable amount of support for this project. We needed fill dirt...they got it and then some. Respect the spot as it is in the Ruritan's back yard and it would Not have happened without them. Same goes for Jason Weeks and the Currituck County Parks and Recreation Dept.

Let's not forget the Other Currituck Park...Powell's Point NC will be open for Labor Day Weekend.

Knotts Island is finished and ready to ride! The pool at Powells Point is poured and awaiting flat bottom, tile and pool block next week. Some of the crew will be headed to Duram in the next couple of weeks and the KDH Aviation Skatepark has seen some clearing started.

April Showers Continue...except it's May !!!!

So much for last year's drought...anybody else sick of Rain??

Here's the updates:

1. Ocean Pines, MD - Concrete Work is complete and the Public Works Dept. is gearing up to complete the landscaping, etc. to get the park open. We'll post up the Grand Opening Date as soon as we get word...check it out.

2. Anybody see the June Skateboard Mag (Issue #63)? Lost weekend with Kyle Berard starting on page 120 showcases some fine skateboarding at a few of the backyard "Swimming Bowls" we have designed and constructed. Keeping the dream alive...

3. Knott's Island Skatepark is about to begin getting some concrete!!! Much thanks to Buzzy and the Ruritan Club for finding ways and means to get this skatepark built. On top of being cool enough to push for this park, they procurred much rebar, most of the steel for the coping, and a $#%^ ton of fill dirt!!! We'll post some pics of the fresh crete in a couple...

4. Durham, NC has broken ground and the General Contractor is in the site work phase...looks like it's gonna be a hot Durham Summer!!! The City is talking about using some colors in the concrete and trying to add some granite for all the ledges in the park. Keep your fingers crossed and keep pushing for Pad Free Skateparks in NC!!!

5. Speaking of Pads, Marsh Creek Skatepark in Raleigh is wide open...check it out!!

Looks like Denny has stamped his frontal approval of the vert bowl...Sick!!!

5. We are putting the final tweaks on the Lower Currituck Park and are planning on beginning the site work and starting to get ready for concrete by the end of this month. Keep posted for final design specs soon!!!

6. Kill Devil Hills, NC - Final Design Phase to be completed for commissioners approval by the end of May. We'll get the design up here as soon as it is approved!!!

7. Finally, contracts have been signed for the Warren County Skatepark in Front Royal, VA!!!Artisan and Pillar have teamed up again for this 15,000 sq. ft. gem to start later this Summer with a completion date some time in December 09. Lots of stuff for everyone on this one...keep posted. We'll post the design as soon as I figure out how to post pdf files onto the blog...

April Showers...

Can't stop us. In and around frquent showers this early Spring, we are stoked to announce that concrete is on the ground in Ocean Pines, MD.

Also in Artisan news...Knotts Island Skatepark is underway with drainage and 80% or the earthwork completed. Forms and concrete are slated later this month.

Kill Devil Hills held its "First" public meeting and we are in the process of adding some street features and tweaking this design for construction this Summer. Durham, NC on deck...sitework to begin early May with Summer construction.

Soundside Park in Lower Currituck County is in the final planning stage and is expecting to start late April.

Marsh Creek Skatepark in Raleigh NC is about to open (April 15th) with a Grand Opeing slated for May 2. Go get some.

March Madness

The Raleigh Skatepark is in the final stages of construction. Diamond Contracting of Garner, NC is working hard on completing the entire project with the City calling for a tentative May 4th Grand Opening. Here are a few snaps from our last R & D session.

Kill Devil Hills Aviation Skatepark is in the design phase with the next public input session scheduled for Monday, March 30th at 5 p.m. Come show your support for the porject and see how you can help. Meeting is at the Town Hall Meeting Room.

Lower Currituck is getting a skatepark. We are working with Brad on the design and site layout and anticipate breaking ground in April.

Durham Skatepark is having the final tweaks and construction documents handled by Brad at Pillar Design Studios and will be getting scheduled very soon...

All in all, things are happening. We are working on revamping the website very soon so check back to see all the designs and pics...

Raleigh Updates

Well, our portion of the skatepark is quickly winding up. The flow area is complete and currently being field tested by the crew. Everything seems to be in working order...nothing to see here...move along...

Working towards finishing up the big bowl this week. Check out the OV Clam Pocket starting to take shape! Keep posted for more pics..
